About HOA Rights Lab
A reading room for people stuck dealing with a homeowners association. The pages are written for homeowners, reviewed as general information, and updated by shipping a new file.
HOA Rights Lab explains fees, rules, fines, records, meetings, and the state statutes that sit on top of your CC&Rs. Humans write the pages. There are no bylines and no pretend experts.
What this site is not
We are not a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice. Reading a guide, using a letter tool, or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship. Laws and governing documents change. A statute quote on a page can go stale. The date at the top of each article is the last time a person reviewed it.
How a page gets published
A guide, a topic, a state page, or a letter is a Markdown file in this project. The build turns that file into HTML. A state page is added when it has its own statute, its own official link, and its own facts. We do not rename one state's page fifty times.
How the site is paid for
The business is advertising. When the site has an audience, we plan to run standard display ads, such as Google AdSense. Those ads stay separate from the guides. We do not sell your letter text. The letter tools run in your browser and do not send what you type to a server.
